Just wondering if those of you who have bought a house could tell me if it was a scary experience for you too. How did you finally get the nerve to make an offer? Did you fall in love with the house the minute you stepped into it and it was no problem to make the offer? Or did you think...this is a pretty nice house...there might be something better out there...but we like this one, so we'll go for it? Pretty much what I'm asking here is...you guys (V & A and K &J) seem to have got the right house for you, so did you hesitate about making an offer or was it a no brainer b/c you loved the house so much?
Any advice would be great...if this makes any sense at all to begin with.
Thanks!

I don't think that it's like some sort of "WOW this house is totally for us" feeling. It's more a comfortable, "Yeah, we could live here" feeling. If you pressured AT ALL, then wait and see. When Vince & I put the offer on the bad house we felt like it was the best thing that we'd seen yet and what if nothing else comes along so we were putting an offer on it b/c we were scared nothing else will come. That's a bad reason to buy a house. Towns are full of houses, the right house will come. If you feel pressured that you have to choose this house, then I'd say wait for another one that doesn't give you that panicy pressure feeling. As far as I recall, when we found this house it fit most of the things we were looking for and felt comfortable. The offer thing is still nerve-racking though, no matter what. As well, both Vince and I felt the same about the house, which was important. There were other houses that one or the other of us liked, but this was the only one that we both liked. I think it's worth it to make sure you're both feeling good about the house. Those are my thoughts! Keep me posted on the progress!
Ash :)
