Grand Forks

Ryan and I had an amazing time at Grand Forks. Who would have thought that a little 2 1/2 hour trip would be so refreshing?
So we left Friday afternoon and had a nice ride out there. The border crossing guy was really funny too and him and Ryan were cracking the jokes together about the huge dent in the driver side door of our car (we couldn't roll down our window), and how we were on our 2nd honeymoon. When we got to the hotel we had the nice surprise of having a huge flat screen t.v. in our room! We were pumped and watched a lot of TLC...very relaxing.
We went into downtown Grand Forks and happened to be there during their farmers market . We spent some time there and listened to a live band...thankfully finding a seat in the shade and out of the blazing heat! We did a little bit of shopping...although if you ask Ryan we did A LOT of shopping.
The best part was enjoying a nice meal on a patio overlooking the Red River. The evening ended with a huge laugh. On our way out of the restaurant I needed to go to the bathroom. I always take a second look to make sure that I go into the women's bathroom. Well, as I open the door there was a guy just coming out of one of the stalls. I froze in place. We both looked at each other and then at the door that I was still holding open and burst out laughing! He then says, "I guess this is the women's bathroom." I laughed so hard, felt kind of sorry for him, and then laughed some more cause he was already laughing pretty hard by that time. He left the bathroom right aways, and I guess he was somewhat embarrassed b/c he left without washing his hands...just needed to get out of there I guess. A few seconds after he left I heard a huge roar of laughter from the bar...which wasn't really all that close to the bathrooms. As I left I did my best to contain my laughter, as it might look odd to see a girl walking down the street laughing so hard she's crying...apparently I just had this goofy grin on my face that was so obvious that Ryan could see it through the rear view mirror of the car and knew something was up. That completely made my day. All that laughing was the best part of our trip. Just what we needed to relax and have some fun. That guy will never know what an impact he had on our weekend! Tee hee hee.
So all in all, it was great! Can't wait to go again.

Happy Father's Day!

We love you Dad! We just wanted to let you know that we have really appreciated all that you have done for us....helping us with our yard, having us over for meals...and for Ryan the most important thing, to watch hockey. Thanks for your love, goofiness, hospitality, and sensitivity to other peoples needs. Your the best! Happy Father's Day!
Love,
Ryan and Amanda
