The search continues....

Hi all. Just a quick update on the cafe. We went to have a good look at the place on Grosvenor yesterday and have decided that it isn't the right place. Although it has a really nice patio, that's the only thing that was really great about it. There were too many parts of the concept that we were going to have to compromise or pay lots of money to fix or try to get the city to allow with the hunch that they wouldn't. I think we liked it because it was the first place since the yellow house that was even remotely close to being right. We all wanted it to be the place, but had the nagging feeling that it just wasn't right. So the search continues....

Three Cheers for progress!!!

The work starts next week! This Sunday will be our last party on the old patio. Looks like workers will be here on Monday morning to break up the old and begin our new addition.
Also, progress on the baseball front.....we finally won games back-to-back this week and are feeling much better about it. The tournament at Winkler saw us with a 3 and 1 record. My right shoulder has given out for overhand throws....so now I just throw underhand. no problem - everyone has some handicap - we just work around it.

A SPECIAL SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

Clue

Mrs. Ash Braun, at the Steinbach campground, with all of Ryan's hats, on June 1st, 2006.

Hmmm....a conspiracy maybe? We seem to have a mole in the Mafia. Does anyone know about this?

Amanda & a very suspicious and sad Ryan.

Father's Day

Hello everyone,
Just wondering when it works for everyone to get together for Father's Day. I'm not sure if this weekend (June 16-18) or next weekend (June 23-25) would be best. Kim is working this weekend (which would limit the options to the evening and possibly something in the city, which would be alright too), and her and Jonathan have their house warming party next Saturday. Everyone please comment on what works best for you:)

Poppies for you Poppies for us

We're in the army now.

So, Kim and I are officially paying to be in the army. That's right, the army. Yikes! Yup, it was all blood, sweat, and tears. "50 push ups!" is what we heard everytime we did something wrong. "Run 2 miles" everytime a word came out of our mouths when the coach was talking.

Okay so maybe I'm exaggerating a little, but are you intrigued? Some of this is true. We got assessed yesterday by a guy who has served in the Scottish military for a number of years. He looked at everything from our physical fitness, to our skill level, to our attitude, and even how we stood (which we only found out half way through the practice). It wasn't actually that bad cause we got lot's of breaks (which we were probably assessed on now that I think of it). Once everyone has been assessed on the team we will meet with the coach individually and talk about our strengths/weaknesses. I guess this is what it means to play on a "fun" soccer team. Ha!! Ha!! You all should come watch sometime.

Oh, and by the way, congrats to Kimberly who did an amazing job yesterday. She worked so hard...even to the point of woosiness. She is a strong and fast defensive player who is a dominant part of the team. Way to be hard core!

Thanks much!!

Thanks for all the help moving. We are pretty excited about our new place. We love it. Especially all the new appliances...for all you who know about the terrible stoves we have had. Anyways, you will all have to come over sometime, maybe for a fireside or something. Thanks again.
